La Plaza del Baratillo

La Plaza del Baratillo, located a few steps from the Union Garden, has had its name since the colonial days, since here they were selling and buying flowers, vegetables and fruits to very economic prices. In fact, there existed a market that disappeared about 1893. The square has in his center a fountain of green quarry with two carved bowls on which it rests a column that supports a great shell adorned with a dolphin in each of four fronts. This is one of the Guanajuato's most typical places, where still the same products are sold of long ago.
